Owners and admins run the organisation. Members do the day-to-day planning work. Viewers — accountants, consultants, an investor — can read without being able to change anything. And two roles exist purely for the warehouse: a Return Scanner who sees only the scan screen and the returns log, and a Warehouse Manager who can also delete records and resolve claims. Every role except Owner can be invited by email, and a person can belong to several organisations under one login, which is how agencies and multi-brand sellers keep clients properly separated.

Who changed that, and when?
Uploads, shipments, formula changes, invitations, role changes, deletions, syncs — all of it lands in an audit log you can search and filter by actor, action and date, then export. It answers the question that otherwise costs an afternoon of messages: the send list looks wrong, so who changed the round-up multiple, and when? Retention runs seven days on Free, thirty on Pro and ninety on Business.

Two-factor authentication
Turn on authenticator-app two-factor for your own account. Enabling or disabling it is itself an event you are emailed about, so a change you did not make does not pass unnoticed.
Export for the auditor
The audit log exports, so when an accountant or a platform review asks who did what, the answer is a file rather than a reconstruction from memory.
Why this matters
Most seller accounts are shared by password.
It starts reasonably. One person needs to check stock, so they get the login. Then the warehouse needs to record returns, so they get it too. Within a year the credentials are on four phones, an ex-employee still has them, and nobody can say who changed the reorder settings last March. The failure is rarely dramatic — no one steals anything — but the account becomes something you cannot reason about, at exactly the point where the business is big enough that you need to.

Common seller mistakes
- Sharing one login across the teamEvery action becomes anonymous. When something is wrong, there is no way to find out what happened or who to ask.
- Giving warehouse staff full accessSomeone whose job is scanning cartons ends up able to see margins, change settings and reach the Amazon connection.
- Giving the accountant write access to look at numbersRead-only is what was actually wanted. Without a viewer role, the only way to grant visibility is to grant control.
- Never removing people who have leftShared credentials cannot be revoked for one person — they have to be changed for everyone, so in practice nobody does it.

How do I add my team with the right permissions?01
Invite them by email and choose a role. Owners and admins run the organisation, members do day-to-day planning, viewers can read without changing anything, and two warehouse-only roles cover receiving. Every role except Owner can be invited, and permissions are enforced on the server rather than merely hidden in the interface.
Can I see who changed inventory settings or shipments?02
Yes. The audit log records uploads, shipments, formula changes, invitations, role changes, deletions and system events like the nightly Amazon sync, each with an actor and a timestamp. You can filter by person, action or date and export the result.
How long is audit history kept?03
Seven days on Free, thirty days on Pro and ninety days on Business. The limit is applied when the log is read, so upgrading widens the window on history you already have.
Can I manage more than one brand or client?04
Yes. One login can belong to several organisations, and you switch between them without signing out. Data is scoped per organisation, so a client's numbers are never visible from another workspace.
Are my Amazon credentials safe if I add team members?05
Yes. The Amazon authorisation is stored encrypted and is never displayed back to anyone, including you. Adding colleagues does not widen who can reach your seller account, and connecting or disconnecting Amazon is restricted to owners and admins.
Does Unilytic support two-factor authentication?06
Yes, via an authenticator app. Enabling or disabling it triggers a notification email, so a change you did not make is not silent.
